Easy to Make ‘No Yuck’ Homemade Baby Wipes and Make Up Remover Wipes

From birth, I have always made my own baby wipes to use with our daughter. Over time I realized that I could use them for make up remover wipes as well! How about that for a double duty mommy win for you?!? The ingredients in my recipe have changed slightly over time from what was passed on to me from another mom (due to my level of crunchiness being on the rise… lol!). What’s funny is that I have realized that when we travel and use a name brand package of wipes, my daughter breaks out on her bottom. The second that we return to using my wipes… it all clears up! Coincidence? I think not! I am working to find a way to use my homemade wipes on the go in a convenient way so stay tuned! Anyway, here is my guide for easy to make ‘no yuck’ homemade baby wipes and make up remover wipes.

{Ingredients and Supplies}

{Directions}

Take a sharp knife and cut an ‘X’ in the top of your container of choice. This is where you will dispense your wipes through.

Use a serrated knife and cut the paper towel roll in half. I have found that serrated knives work best to get through all of the towels and cardboard roll. Once cut, put a half roll into your container.

Measure water, coconut oil, and lotion of choice into a bowl. Microwave this mixture for 2 minutes. You could also heat on the stove until warm enough to melt the coconut oil.

Add Castile Soap and Lavender Essential Oil to liquid mixture and stir well.

Pour liquid mixture over paper towels that are inside the canister. Let the liquid absorb for a few minutes then remove the cardboard that is in the center.

Pull wipes up through the middle of the roll and insert through ‘X’ in container lid.

I usually have 2-4 of these made in our home at one time! I keep one in the kitchen to use as wet wipes, one in our daughter’s bedroom, and sometimes one in our bedroom. You can decorate your container so that it fits your decor better or if you’re like me then you really don’t care that much! It usually only takes me about 5 minutes to make 2 containers of wipes, so this DIY is super easy to squeeze into just about any schedule. Enjoy!
